![]() "Forensic" mode does an exact sector copy but is slower. On my system, Macrium does an "intelligent" clone by default that isn't an exact sector copy. I poked at this a bit, and some of the directories on the two drives are different size, and even have a different number of files on them.Īny ideas as to why this might be happening? I don't know if it matters, but my C: drive is on an SSD and the destination is a spinner. ![]() I was surprised to see that the clone was a different size than the source. ![]() I just completed a clone of my C: drive in order to update my off-site backup so that I could recover from any sort of disaster. ![]() I will be the very first to admit that I do not understand how clones are created, but my very rudimentary understanding is that it does a sector by sector copy from the source drive to the destination. ![]()
